Joy Clair Refuel My Soul Stamp Set

Hello Friends!  It is such an honor to be part of the Joy Clair Stamps Design Team for 2018.  I hope you are enjoying the New Release Blog Hop so far! I am excited to share with you a set of Joy Clair Stamps that are perfect for Bible Journaling.  The set below is called Refuel My Soul.                                    12

I love the Scripture text stamp in the set from Romans 15:13, so that is the Scripture I decided to journal.  “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”   Without His Holy Spirit, the fuel of our lives, we will not make it!  We need His power and His confident hope to fill us to overflowing!  It was definitely a fun and special time in worship using these stamps to design my page!

Here is how I created my page:

1. I always like to add a little dimension to my pages.  To do so I simply pick a few images that I stamp onto cardstock with StazOn Ink.  I chose the cars and gas gauge.  I cut them out and used NeoColor Watercolor II Crayons to color them in. 3

2. I chose the stamps that I wanted to apply right to the page and began laying the items out to plan the page.  When using stamps or watercolors I am always sure to use a piece of plastic behind the page to prevent the ink or water from transferring onto other pages.4

3. I used Car Washi Tape and Black & White washi tape to make a border at the top of the page.  I always tab my pages and used the gas gauge as a fun tab.  Tabs serve as a way to find passages easily but also help convey the theme of the page.5

4. I cut up the cars for gluing on the bottom of the page. (I use a Scotch Glue Stick in my Bible but tape runners also work very well.)  I added more Black & White washi tape to the very bottom.  I also stamped on cardsotck the text stamps from the set.  I glued them on top of the washi.6

5. I added some finishing touches by watercoloring the Gas Pump, adding drops throughout the pages and stamped the date using a date stamp.  I love dating my pages so I am able to go back and see not only when I did the page but what God has shown and taught me since then.  I also used Illustrated Faith Highlighter Washi Tape to highlight the Scripture.7

Hope you enjoyed this post and will find it helpful in your own stamping and in your own worship!

Advent Journaling

What an fun month of Journaling in December!  I decided to use a set of Journaling Cards on the Names of Jesus from the Illustrated Faith Print & Pray Shop to help me pick my Scriptures.  I loved the idea of journaling a different name of Jesus each day in December up to Christmas!  Hope your Christmas was peaceful and full of blessings.  Happy 2018!

AdornIt Coloring Books

Hello All!  I have been very blessed to be a representative for Adornit for the last couple of months! Check out their website – http://www.adornit.com! They sell everything from craft supplies to the cutest clothes!  One of my favorite items that they sell are their Art Play Coloring Books.  They have many different themes and are printed on the highest quality watercolor paper.  1

I picked a mason jar out of the Home Grown Coloring book and used Neocolor II Crayons to watercolor it. 23

These little coloring pages can have so many uses!  I’ve made greeting cards, tags and journaling cards out of them.  Today I cut out the mason jar and used it to document my faith in the book of Proverbs in my Bible. 4

Gratitude Journals

12Documenting this month of November in a journal has been SUCH a blessing to my heart!  Taking time out of every day to just be thankful was much needed.  I used the prompts provided by Illustrated Faith to make my own Gratitude Journal.  As I posted these day by day on Facebook and Instagram I got many requests for how I made the journal.  So here it is below!  Step by step instructions for making your own journal!  Easy Peasy!

I started by typing out the prompts in Word booklet template.  I used higher quality (24lb) 8.5×11 paper and printed it out double sided. 1

On to the cover.  Choose a piece of cardstock you like.  (I chose paper from the Illustrated Faith Gratitude Documented line.)  I trimmed it down using my paper cutter to leave a small boarder around my 8.5×11 paper. 2

The next step is completely unnecessary but I love rounded corners!!  So I took the time to use my corner tool cutter to round the edges of both the cardstock cover and the inside paper. 3

After the paper was rounded, I folded it all in half so that I could easily tell where to staple.  A booklet stapler works best!45

The next step for me was to draw different banners in pencil around each prompt.  I did this for the whole journal.  6

I wanted to cover the whole page in watercolor and put my decorations on top.  I used my Neocolor II Watercolor Crayons to cover each page.  I left the banners white to help them stand out on the page.  *Helpful Hint – I went ahead and watercolored all of the pages before I started to decorate.  This way the water from the colors will not effect any stickers, stamps, glue or writing you may have on the previous page.   78

At this point I went through all pages and outlined the banners with a Sharpie Fine Point Non Bleed Pen.11

At this point I was ready to start decorating and journaling! As far as my process goes I picked the consistent items I wanted on each page.  I already had the headings and banners.  I also decided to have the scripture printed out on each page by typing them ahead of time onto clear sticker paper.  I simply cut them out and stuck them to the page.  I also wanted different washi tape on the page so I decided on 2 rows of washi tape on the bottom of each page decorated with a number sticker and a stamp that said “Gratitude Documented”.  Those would be my staples for each page and I would simply build around those each day.  I also set aside some of my favorite journaling supplies to use. 910

And that is it!  Very easy and a great way to document your faith!  Check out my Instagram page for each entry.  Comment below if you have any questions!

Our Bible Stack!

I am so excited to share that our 2nd Annual Bible Journaling Retreat was a wonderful time!  Our Bible Journaling Group, The Author’s Illustrators (named by my dear friend Michelle!), attempts to meet monthly and spend time together in worship through Bible Journaling!  The retreat this year was held in October at one of our beautiful local camps.  Our theme was Rise Up & Pray.  We used Luke 22:46 and Ephesians 6 as our theme verses.   Our weekend was filled with creativity, food, fellowship and worship!  Thank you to all who attended and helped!
