I started following Katy Fults (@katygirldesigns) when she handlettered some Bible Journaling products a few years ago. Her posts are real and down to earth, so I was very excited when she partnered with Dayspring to write this devotional book. Even the title hit my heart! Who doesn’t want to experience more freedom in their life? God’s Word is the tool to bring that freedom! Part of the intro reads: “This little book is full of truths that have molded me into who I am today and who I am still learning to be. You’re going to read about anxiety, grief, mistakes, abandonment, valleys, hardships and heartache. But you’re also going to read about restoration and how God is chasing after you, how He is holding your hand every hard day and every easy day, And mostly you’re going to read about how Jesus sets our hearts free.”
This hardcover book is small in size – 5.45″ x 6.35″ – but full of such big truth. There are 144 pages with beautiful handlettering and artwork throughout. There are 60 short easy to read devotionals with titles such as Lighthearted Hope, Simply Be, God Carries You and Follow Him.
You will find that God uses Katy to speak right to the heart. Her honesty and ability to apply the Scriptures to every day life is refreshing. She explains that in the mess of life we always have the choice of how we will choose to live – a life of authenticity or a life of pretending we have it all together. Each devo that follows gives us another look at how to live in the choice of freedom and authenticity. And the handlettering of God’s truth throughout the book makes me want to frame every page!
