Joy Clair Stamp Set: Light House

Hello Friends!  I am excited to share one of Joy Clair’s newest stamp sets: Light House.  In this entry I used 2 sets of colored pencils from Leisure Arts: 30 Pack of Watercolor Pencils & 30 Pack of Premium Colored Pencils.  Colored Pencils are not my usual ‘go to’ craft supply – but these are wonderful!  There are 30 colors in each pack and they write very easily and boldy!  I used both sets for this Bible Journaling page.

I chose Psalm 43:3 “Send out Your light and Your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your dwelling!” (English Standard Version) to journal due to the scripture stamp included in the set.  I love the theme of the Lighthouse and asking God to let His light and truth lead us!

I started by using the watercolor pencils to make a rocky shore and also the water for the ocean.  I simply drew the rocks and water and used my water brush to blend the colors.

I stamped the sailboat on cardstock, colored it in with the Leisure Arts Premium Colored Pencils and glued it in the water near the edge of the rocks.  I also used a q-tip and white acrylic paint to make waves in the water.

I used the lighthouse stamp on cardstock and used both the watercolor and premium colored pencils to color it in.  I applied the lighthouse on top of the rocks and made the lighthouse ‘shine’ with the ray stamps included in the set.  I also stamped the scripture above the sailboat.  36287620_10214681323100287_4771134802390679552_n36030307_10214681321380244_4402978443524833280_n

I added some finishing touches by adding a tab, underlining the scripture verse and also date stamping the page.  Thank you so much for stopping by this blog and be sure to check out all of the July Challenge Inspiration on the Joy Clair blog here!
