Hello Everyone! Thanks for stopping in and checking out my September challenge project for Joy Clair Stamps! Click here to enjoy the others projects done by the design team!
I immediately fell in love with the stamp set Deer Friends! The flowers and plants are so pretty – but those woodland animals are adorable!
I started off by stamping the animals and the tree stumps onto white cardstock and colored them in with Neocolor II watercolor crayons. I fussy cut them out and set them aside to use on the page.
I chose Proverbs 3 to use these stamps with – a chapter all about wisdom, kindness, gentleness and walking with the Lord in His wisdom. I chose 9 different green shades of Neocolors to color the margin of the page. I used a water brush to fill the page with these colors.
I used the three little stamps in the set – an acorn, flower and leaf – to do a border at the bottom of the page.
I used the Wise stamp for a tab at the top of the page with some washi tape and stickers. I added some alpha stickers for the word BE and used the stamps gentle, wise and kind to the side.
I glued on the animals with the tree stumps and added a date stamp. After reading and worshiping through the passage I typed out a prayer on clear sticker paper and added it to the middle of the page.
This set was so fun to use and I can think of so many other projects to use them!
Blessings!
What a beautiful, unique page! The colors, the stamp, and the prayer is just an awesome way to worship God! He hears our prayers!

Hi Andie:
I need to bug you (pick your brain a bit). I’m LOVING this crayon background that I saw on the Joy Clair blog, and had to stop by and take a look. I was hoping you had a tutorial on how you did it. Would you mind telling me how you did this? Or…if you saw a tutorial when you learned it, I’d love to see it done. I absolutely love this background idea, and it works really well for Bible journalling. It would be such a blessing to learn this new technique, and I’d greatly appreciate your help.
By the way, I run a Christian challenge blog if you’re ever interested in playing along. I’d love seeing your amazing art linked up with us. It’s always Anything Goes/Family Friendly and we have awesome sponsors. I’d love to have you play along. http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com – Word Art Wednesday
Have a blessed day,
